Chicago native Freddy Rodriguez is in Chicago for a private, invitation-only premiere of his new movie, "Nothing Like The
Holidays" tonight. The movie was shot right in Humboldt Park and Logan Square.
"Nothing Like The Holidays" is a slice-of-life look at a Puerto Rican family living in Humboldt Park, and how this may be their last holiday celebration as a family.
Rodriguez not only stars in the film, he also produced it, alongside Chicago native Bob Teitel, of "Barbershop" fame.
John Leguizamo plays Rodriguez's brother. Alfred Molina stars as their father. Elizabeth Pena plays the mother.
Also in the film: Deborah Messing and Luis Guzman.
Although Rodriguez has a home in Los Angeles, he also maintains a residence here in Chicago.
Mondays premiere was held at the Music Box Theatre, at 3733 N. Southport. It opens nationwide on Friday.
