Things are looking up for Alexi Giannoulias, according to Alexi Giannoulias.
After trailing for much of the general election season, the senate candidate’s own pollsters say he’s now running in a dead heat with opponent Mark Kirk.
Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research asked 600 likely voters between May 11-13 to name their choice if the election were to happen today.
The candidates are locked in a 44-44 tie, with a 4-percentage point margin of error.
A similar internal poll at the end of April showed Giannoulias trailing Kirk 37-43, numbers that lined up with other independent polling.
Could it be that Giannoulias was able to swing the failure of Broadway Bank into his favor?
Immediately after his family’s business was taken over by the feds, Giannoulias began framing the bank's failure as a result of the tough economy. Kirk framed it as a failure of fiscal discipline.
