Five weeks out from voting day, the Chicago mayoral race between incumbent Rahm Emanuel and challenger Jesus "Chuy" Garcia is a dead heat, a poll shows.
Of the 2,037 people questioned in the Ogden and Fry poll, roughly 42 percent gave their support to Emanuel. About 38 percent of respondents supported Garcia.
More than 18 percent of respondents said they were undecided.
The margin of error in the poll, conducted over two days last week, was +/- 3.2 percent.
Emanuel last Tuesday fell short of the vote threshold needed to win a second term outright, extending the campaign to April 7.
