Emanuel Holds Second Facebook Town Hall

Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Monday evening answered questions from Facebook and Twitter in his second #AskChicago town hall.

Emanuel took the opportunity to focus on education and questions about crowding and teacher pay.

He said the social media format empowers people to get closer to government.

"It is easy to get isolated in the mayor's office. My job is to make sure I continue to hear the voices of the people," he said.

The event was streamed online at facebook.com/chicagomayorsoffice, or livestream.com/chicagomayorsoffice.

There were eight remote viewing locations for Chicagoans who didn't have access to a computer or who wanted to participate in a group setting:
