Nicki Minaj turned up the heat...to the extreme.
The 31-year-old rapper kicked off the MTV Video Music Awards with a sexy (and downright wild) performance of "Anaconda."
And as soon as "Anaconda" ended, Minaj attempted to make a quick costume change to perform her other hit single, "Bang Bang."
But once she reappeared onstage with Jessie J and Ariana Grande, Minaj seemed to be a little too focused on keeping her attire on.

As her collaborators danced around the stage, Minaj was holding the top of her dress to make sure it wouldn't open up.
Looks like someone needed a few extra seconds during her wardrobe change.

And there was also something missing from her performance of "Anaconda": Snakes!
Wearing a bright sequined two-piece outfit, Minaj was able to put on a show filled with twerking, grinding and even a taste of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back."
But after one of Minaj's backup dancers got bitten by a 6-foot boa constrictor during rehearsals, the rapper opted to pass on the creatures during her live performance.
