A Naperville woman got a visit from the secret service after she allegedly made an off-handed remark about "killing the president" during a phone call with a civil servant.
Sue Velezquez, 52, went on a verbal rampage while on the phone with a civil service worker while trying to get to the bottom of her daughter's passport problems, according to the Naperville Sun.
Her daughter, who was born in Mexico while Valezquez was on vacation, is trying to get her certificate of citizenship back from the government after she used it to apply for a passport.
She's planning to get married by the end of the year and needs her certificate of citizenship back so she can get her marriage license.
U.S. State Department officials told her she would have to relinquish her daughter's certificate of citizenship before her passport could be issued.
Valezquez claims she did what she was told, but is still awaiting the passport and certificate.
While on the phone with the worker, she's quoted as saying, “It’s not like I’m gonna kill the (expletive) president.”
Soon after, secret service agents showed up at the Naperville Police Department to interrogate her about her comments.
The secret service has yet to say if it will take action against Velezquez.
