Men Rescued as Scaffolding Dangles From Downtown Chicago Building

Workers escaped without injuries after the scaffolding they were on broke several stories up on a downtown Chicago building Tuesday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., the right side of scaffolding broke off 12 to 15 stories up in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue, Chicago police said.

Fire officials said three men were on the structure at the time, one of whom climbed to a nearby scaffolding before firefighters rescued the remaining two.

Chicago police officers said two men were on the scaffolding at the time, however.

No injuries were immediately reported, but Chicago fire officials were at the scene evaluating the men just after 11 a.m.
