Three Chicago police officers were injured, one seriously, in an incident on Chicago's West Side Wednesday morning, according to police.
Around 10 a.m., officers in the 15th District were on patrol when they came across a traffic accident near the intersection of South Cicero Avenue and West Roosevelt Road, authorities said.
They approached the crash to see if anyone was injured and a male subject became combative and struck an officer, according to police.
Two other officers were injured while putting the offender in custody, officials said.
All three officers were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, one in serious condition and two in good condition, according to police. No further information on the officers' identities or injuries was immediately available.
The offender was taken to Loretta in stable condition, police said, and charges were pending.
