Two people were found dead inside of a northwest suburban home Wednesday.
At approximately 4:11 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire departments were called to a house in the 500 block of North Avenue in Barrington.
Upon arrival, the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team was called in to assist local police with what officers declared a death investigation. The task force is comprised of forensic experts.
On Wednesday the Lake County medical examiner confirmed two people were found dead in the home, but identity and cause of death of the victims have not been released.
Neighbors say an older couple lives at the home with their adult developmentally disabled daughter, and that the quiet, upscale community typically has very little crime overall.
A heavy police presence remained at the scene for hours into the night Tuesday, and an officer was still sitting outside the home in the early hours of Wednesday, saying only that the house was an “active crime scene.”
No further details have been released.
