The Cook County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation Saturday after a man was found dead near a forest preserve in south suburban Harvey.
Authorities responded to a call from a passerby at about 2:05 p.m, according to the sheriff's office. The man called police after he drove by the area of 141st and Thornton and saw an unresponsive man near the road. Police say the body was found at 145th and Loomis, just south of a wooded forest preserve area.
Authorities revealed Sunday that the victim is 30 years old and had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead on the scene, and the sheriff's office is proceeding with an ongoing homicide investigation.
