Firefighters rushed to the scene of a church that collapsed in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood early Monday morning.
Crews responded to Mision Cristiana Church in the 1900 block of W. Schiller St. just after 6 a.m. after a large portion of the large bridge structure caved in.
Demolition fences surrounding the church suggest the building was scheduled to be torn down at some point.

The Mision Cristiana Family Ministries put the church up for sale in September 2013, according to DNA Info, with plans to reconstruct the building into town homes and single-family residences.
No injuries were reported in the collapse, fire officials said.
