Authorities responded to reports of a fire in a self-storage unit facility in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood Sunday morning, fire officials said.
The incident, which was reported around 7:53 a.m., occurred at CubeSmart Self Storage, located at 6201 of S. Harlem Ave., police confirmed.
Fire officials originally said five to six units on the north side of the building were on fire and then it quickly spread.
At least 20 storage units were damaged by the fire and several more may have suffered smoke damage, Deputy District Chief Curtis Hudson said.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
