Former Prosecutor Says Netflix ‘Making a Murderer' Docu-Series Unfair

The former prosecutor says the filmmakers didn't give him a chance to answer any of the defense attorneys' allegations

The prosecutor who put Steven Avery in prison for killing a young photographer says a Netflix documentary on the case is slanted toward the defense.

WLUK-TV reports that filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos produced the 10-part "Making a Murderer" series chronicling how Avery was convicted of killing Teresa Halbach in Manitowoc County in 2005. Avery's attorneys suggest throughout the series that police wanted to frame his client.

Ken Kratz served as the special prosecutor on the case. He says the filmmakers didn't give him a chance to answer any of the defense attorneys' allegations.

He also says the filmmakers haven't presented as much as 90 percent of the physical evidence linking Avery to the crime.

Demos says the documentary includes the state's key evidence.
