Students at a suburban elementary school were set to return to the school Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat sent over the weekend forced an evacuation at the start of the school day.
Police and the DuPage Bomb Squad searched William E. Young Elementary School, located at 16240 S. Cedar Drive, and did not find any evidence of a bomb.
A secretary at the school was listening to voice messages Tuesday morning when she heard one message from the weekend that said there was a bomb in the school, according to Kathy Hoffmeyer, a spokesperson for the Will County sheriff's office.
The students were evacuated to Luther J. Schilling School, Hoffmeyer said. They were scheduled to be bused back to Young Elementary School at 2 p.m. and then released.
