Kevin Trudeau’s problems are only beginning.
Sentenced in federal court to 10 years in prison earlier this week, Trudeau was told by a different judge Wednesday he could very well be thrown in jail again as soon as that sentence is satisfied.
District Judge Robert Gettleman has had Trudeau in custody since last November, in an effort to force him to come clean on the whereabouts of all of his assets.
In court today, Gettleman said he will not allow those four months to count toward the sentence Trudeau received from Judge Ronald Guzman on Monday. And he made clear that the former TV pitchman still owes the $37.6 million judgment for which he was sitting behind bars.
Meanwhile, in a rambling post on his Facebook page, a message attributed to Trudeau updates his followers on his new life, and speaks of his affection for the judge who gave him such a stiff sentence.
“Had a great nights sleep after the sentencing!” he wrote. “Mandela got 28 years, I was blessed to get only 10.”
“I have deep love and appreciation for the Judge and the prosecutors,” the post continues. “Please send them love.”
Trudeau vows an appeal, and indeed, in a separate post, asks his followers for financial support for that effort.
“I might get the verdict overturned and/or the sentence reduced. The Universe knows what is best and perfect. You must to trust Devine (SIC) Timing. I will use my time in prison, however long that turns out to be, to my advantage.”
Trudeau insists in the post, there are reasons for his current tribulations.
“The HOW and WHEN do not concern me, as the Devine knows and delivers Perfection in everything. Learn to trust. When I heard the sentence, I knew there were amazing things off the radar screen I did not see yet. I felt so excited for my upcoming adventure, and all the blessings that are in store for me!”
Trudeau’s lawyer asked that Guzman recommend the federal prison in Montgomery, Ala. The judge refused.
