President Barack Obama makes stops at two small towns in western Illinois during his three-day Midwest bus tour starting Monday.
The tour, focused on jobs and the economy, will feature events in Atkinson and Alpha, Ill., on Wednesday before Obama returns to Washington, according to the White House.
On Monday, he travels to Iowa to host a town hall event in Decorah at Seed Savers Exchange. He's in Peosta, Ia., on Tuesday for a Rural Economic Forum at Northeast Iowa Community College.
During each stop, Obama plans to discuss ways to strengthen the middle class, grow the economy and accelerate hiring in communities across the country.
"The President knows we must do everything we can to promote economic growth, restore confidence in our nation’s future and restore the sense of optimism for future generations," according to a White House statement.
Obama was in Chicago this month to celebrate his 50th birthday and raise money for his 2012 campaign. He was the guest of honor at a birthday concert at Aragon Ballroom in the Uptown neighborhood.
