A person who was fatally struck by a Metra train near Edgebrook on the Northwest Side on Friday has been identified.
Amanda Vlamakis, 17, of Skokie, died after being struck by train No. 2141 just after 6 p.m. between the Forest Glen and Edgebrook train stations, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and Metra spokesperson Michael Gillis.
It was not clear what led to the incident, which halted all Metra Milwaukee District North Line trains for more than one hour.
