A pilot was injured with a small plane crashed in a far northwest Chicago suburb over Memorial Day weekend.
According to the Hampshire Fire Protection District, a single-engine Cessna crashed around 6:30 p.m. on Getty Read near Rout 20.
The plane hit a utility wire before crashing in a cornfield, officials said.
The pilot was extricated from the aircraft and taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, though the injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.
