NBC 5 Says Goodbye to Stefan Holt

An impeccable journalist and even better person, it’s not too surprising Stefan’s talents have earned the recognition of another station in the NBC family

After five years, NBC 5 is saying goodbye to Stefan Holt.

Stefan came to our station in June, 2011 from WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida as a reporter and weekend morning anchor. He quickly moved up to anchor of our weekday morning and midday newscasts.

An impeccable journalist and even better person, it’s not too surprising Stefan’s talents have earned the recognition of another station in the NBC family. He leaves to join NBC 5’s sister station, WNBC in New York.

“Stefan is a hard-working, smart and highly curious journalist who takes his responsibility to viewers very seriously,” said Susan Sullivan, Vice President of News, NBC 4 New York. “He’s also a caring person and a thoughtful colleague with an unbelievable ability to connect, which is exactly the kind of person we want to attract to our newsroom. We are proud to welcome him to our NBC 4 team.”

Stefan will co-anchor WNBC’s soon-to-be-launched 4 p.m. newscast. And luckily will he not only be in good company, but will be able to see a lot more of his dad Lester Holt.

“We will miss him, but I’m delighted that Stefan is able to grow within our company.” said NBC 5’s station manager and vice president of news Frank Whittaker. “New York is getting a terrific anchor, and a wonderful person too.”

Stefan hates goodbyes, but gave a heartfelt final signoff for the viewers Friday. But it’s not goodbye, as he says, it’s "I’ll see you again soon."

Stefan Holt's last day! We are so sad to see him go. Help us wish him luck as he heads to 30 Rock in New York. We'll miss you Stefan!
