The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Rowan Wick from the San Diego Padres in a flurry of roster moves this week.
Wick made his MLB debut in the 2018 season with the Padres, and has posted a 2.84 ERA with 26 saves in 130 career minor league outings in the San Diego and St. Louis farm systems.
In exchange, the Cubs sent minor league infielder Jason Vosler to the Padres.
The Cubs also selected the contract of Double-A pitcher Justin Steele, and claimed left-handed pitcher Ian Clarkin off of waivers from the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
Clarkin had a 4.76 ERA in 25 total appearances in the White Sox system last season. Steele had a 2.31 ERA in 11 starts throughout the Cubs' system, and posted a 2-2 record.
Cubs minor league infielder Jack Reinheimer was claimed off of waivers by the Texas Rangers, while outfielder Johnny Field and pitcher Jerry Vasto cleared waivers and were outrighted to Triple-A Iowa.
With all of the moves, the Cubs' 40-man roster now stands at 39 players.
