The Chicago Cubs have officially activated starting pitcher Jon Lester from the 10-day injured list, and he will take the mound on Thursday at Wrigley Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Lester, who has been out of action since injuring his hamstring while running the bases in a game on April 8, will take on the defending National League champions in the series finale for the Cubs, as they look to sweep the series before heading on a five-game road trip.
Lester has a 1-0 record with a 2.57 ERA in three starts so far this season.
To make room for Lester, the Cubs optioned pitcher Tim Collins to Triple-A Iowa. Collins appeared in four games for the Cubs, giving up one earned run in 3.1 innings of work.
