Chicago authorities responded to a partial building collapse in Evanston Sunday morning.
Firefighters believe high winds were a contributing factor in the collapse that took place near the Simpson and Dodge intersection, around 6 a.m. Sunday.
Fire crews said the roof, along with some of the buildings' walls were already caved in when they arrived at the scene. Only the front and back facades remained intact.
According to officials, the building had been abandoned but was to be converted into a restaurant.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
Structural engineers from the city were investigating the area and officials said the city decided to tear the reminder of the building down for safety reasons.
