Illinois Democrats on Sunday announced their list of names under consideration to become the party's Lieutenant Governor nominee.
The winner will join Gov. Pat Quinn on the November ballot.
The suspected front runner made the list -- State Sen. Susan Garrett. Other names pushing for the nomination are Raja Krishnamoorthi, who narrowly lost the primary for State Comptroller, and State Rep. Art Turner, who came in second to the now-withdrawn Scott Lee Cohen.
The Daily Herald noted that the lengthy candidate reviewing process could turn whoever wins the party's nomination into the most highly vetted candidate in Illinois political history.
