The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to two-year contract extensions with forwards Dylan Sikura and John Quenneville, the team announced Friday.
Both contracts will pay the players an average of $750,000 per season over the next two years.
Sikura, drafted by the Blackhawks in the 2014 NHL Draft, had eight assists with the Blackhawks last season in 33 games, and has 11 assists in his NHL career. Sikura registered 17 goals and 18 assists with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs last season.
Quenneville was acquired in a trade earlier this month with the New Jersey Devils. Quenneville has scored a pair of goals and dished out three assists in 33 career NHL games, and is expected to compete for a spot on the team’s NHL roster this season.
The contracts for both players will be two-way deals in the first season, meaning that they will be paid less if they are assigned to the AHL, and one-way deals in the second, meaning that their salary is locked in at $800,000 for the 2020-21 season.
