Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner turned some heads over the weekend after he officiated a same-sex marriage ceremony in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, one of the grooms in the wedding was Mark Cozzi, an appointee of the governor who serves on the State Universities Retirement Systems Board of Trustees.
An Instagram photo shows Rauner officiating the ceremony:
Cozzi campaigned for Rauner during the 2014 election, and was appointed to the SURS board in 2015.
The governor's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
