The Obama Foundation Is Now Hiring

The Obama Foundation has launched a new page with job opportunities on its website Obama.org, the organization announced Monday.

The new career page will be regularly updated as new job openings become available, former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s foundation said in a statement.

As of Monday, the site listed more than a dozen positions in areas including digital, legal, museum, information technology, program, real estate and more. [[468590753, C]]

Beginning Monday as well, the foundation is accepting applications for its summer 2018 internship program – open to current undergraduate and graduate students eligible to work in the United States.

Applications for the internship program are due Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. CST, the foundation said.

“In launching our career page and internship program, we will continue to build out our team by identifying individuals who embody our values,” Obama Foundation CEO David Simas said in a statement.

“Whether or not someone works directly for the Obama Foundation, we are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to be engaged with our work and help us achieve our mission of inspiring and empowering people around the world,” he added. [[427533613, C]]

The Obama Foundation also announced Monday the hiring of Chicagoan Stacey Mitchell as the organization’s director of people.

A South Side native and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduate, Mitchell worked in various leadership development and administrative roles before joining the Obama Foundation.

As director of people, Mitchell will manage recruitment and hiring, the organization said.

Lakeside Alliance, the group overseeing construction of the Obama Presidential Center on the city’s South Side, will also have information about job opportunities in construction of the center at a later date, the foundation said.
