8/4: Emotions on Stage, Tequila on Top and Sharon Gless on Screen

Local kids present a play, C-View hosts a tequila mixer and a film debuts

THEATRICAL HEALING: See "Blair's Story, A Musical About Blair Holt," a play by the youth members of the Ray of Hope Center of the Arts. The production, which is inspired by the 2007 killing of the 16-year-old Chicago student aboard a CTA bus, will take place at the DuSable Museum of African-American History. 2PM, free.

IN THE MIX: Attend the "Patron Social Club," a happy hour margarita mixer at C-View in the Affinia Chicago hotel. The Patron Signature Margarita Bar will be serving up refreshing concoctions for $10, while DJ sets create a sexy party vibe. 4-11PM, no cover.

REEL LIFE: Catch a screening of the new movie "Hannah Free" during the "First Tuesdays with the Midwest Independent Film Festival" series. The film was written by acclaimed Chicago playwright Claudia Allen and stars Sharon Gless (of "Cagney and Lacey" fame). A discussion with the filmmakers precedes the screening at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema. 6PM, $10-$15.
