If you're trying to prioritize your outdoor plans before it's too late, there's one spot you should definitely add to your agenda.
For years, Cactus and Melvin B's outdoor patio was THE place to see and be seen before closing its doors in 2007. But a few weeks ago, the Cedar Hotel opened its doors, taking took over the same 1112 N. State Street location, and attracting the same trendy crowd.
Of course the patio is still there, all 2,000 square feet of it, to go along with the gut-rehabbed 2,500 square foot indoor restaurant and full-service bar.
The menu features casual American cuisine such as Pulled Pork Sliders and East Coast Oysters on the Half Shell. View Full Food Menu
The team behind this new joint are also responsible for River North's Manor and RiNo and Wicker Park's The Fifty/50, so you'll see some of those menu items duplicated here, such as the Lobster Salad Sliders and Ahi Salmon & Avocado. Unfortunately they're not offering our favorite Fifty/50 dish, How Much for Just One Rib (say it like Chris Rock).
Signature drinks like the No Tell Hotel Lemonade (passion fruit vodka and fresh squeezed lemonade) are sure to go over well on the patio and are served in 12- and 24-ounce take home cups. (View Full Cocktail Menu
Drink too many of those and you might end up needing someone to take you home.
