Bargain hunting isn’t your forte.
You never find anything on the sale rack, forget your coupons and buy lattes while dust collects on your espresso machine.
Well, this month is going to be different.
Until the end of October, Chicagoans are invited to see a free play at a local theater they’ve never attended. Reservations are limited to two tickets per person, and new blocks of tickets are released every Tuesday at www.freenightoftheater.net.
This deal is only available through Theatre Communications Group along with the League of Chicago Theatres, so don’t bother calling a box office. Once you reserve your seats online at freenightoftheater.net, you just pick up your tickets at the theater the night of the show.
More than 50 local companies are participating – including Stage Left Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre and Second City. Free nights started nationwide four years ago to make live theater accessible to new audiences across the country.
Getting something for free feels good, doesn’t it?
Now, if you could just find a size 8 on the sale rack.
