Go ahead, take a nap. It will help you remember.

It's as much a holiday tradition as the turkey dinner itself; that afternoon nap.

Don't feel guilty.  Go ahead, indulge in those extra zzz's.  It just may help your memory.  New research suggests that interrupting sleep seriously disrupts memory-making abilities.  And that taking a nap may not only boost memory, but your creativity as well.

Few people get the recommended seven to eight hours of sleep, said Dr. William Fishbein, a cognitive neuroscientist at City University of New York.  A nap as short as 12 minutes can make a big difference, Fishbein said.

Not only do you need to remember to sleep, Dr. Fishbein said, you need sleep to remember.
