Apparently no one noticed the memo from Chicago Now that reported TOC and Crain's spoke too soon in leaking the early demise of new River North hotspot, The Shady Lady. When Chicago Mag posted their review yesterday, enough people were confused (including us) that they amended the post to include an update explaining that the establishment is, in fact, open and never closed since it was reported over a month ago. Still confused?
Here's what we gather:
1. Co-owner Craig Hiljus and consultant Dion Antic left the operation.
2. The Shady Lady never closed and is supposed to open under a new guise any day now.
3. Chicago Mag reviews regardless, despite the fact it was done while Hiljus and Antic were still involved in the project and now requires a pedantic explaination that the establishment still exists.
4. No one cares because everyone assumed it was closed anyway.
