The family of Zina Haughton, one of the victims of a Wisconsin salon shooting last month, is speaking out about her tragic death.
Haughton was shot by her estranged husband, Radcliffe Franklin Haughton, in a rampage that killed three people and wounded four others. The shooter was eventually found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a locked area of the salon.
Zina Haughton's brother, Elvin Daniel, is still trying to come to grips with what happened.
"She was a wonderful person. Walked into a room with her smile and she lit up a room," Daniel said.
Family members say they were surprised to hear about the incident because they didn't know that the couple was having issues. Zina had sought an order of protection three days before the shooting and told others that she feared for her safety.
"We were shocked. We had no idea it was going to the extent she was asking police for help," Zina's sister, Cheryl Daniel, said.
And that's why the family is speaking out, hoping someone else can learn from their experience.
"With her heart, she didn't want to trouble us. One thing I want to say... if you're in situation... tell someone," Zina's nephew, Pierre Oshana, said.
The family says they have no ill will toward Radcliffe, but believe he needed to seek mental help.
