YOU PICKED A VINE TIME: Today marks the annual unveiling of the new vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau, a young wine that's meant to be drunk a few weeks after bottling. Traditional release parties (the third Thursday in November) celebrate the first uncorking; here are a few around town: Wine Discount Center locations will feature two Beaujolais Nouveau wines (Mommessin and Bouchard-Aine & Fils) with a free tasting from 3-7PM. At Cyrano's Bistrot & Wine Bar, the celebration includes a three-course prix-fixe dinner paired with a glass of Beaujolais ($39).
CHILLY RECEPTION: Check out Victory Garden's new production, "The Snow Queen," before anyone else at tonight's free open rehearsal. Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati leads this musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's winter wonderland fairytale complete with surreal puppets and stage sets.
