You Can Still Get Glam

Tickets still available for Glamorama

If you've been consumed by Lollapalooza logistics or too busy soaking up the summer sun, you're still in luck if you wanted to check out the season's biggest fashion bash.

Tickets are still available for Glamorama, Macy's annual over-the-top celebration of fashion, music and stylish socializing. The brash fash bash will take place on Aug. 21 this year, so mark your Kate Spade calendars accordingly.

Still not convinced Glamorama is worth your precious time? Consider the evening's lineup: The event kicks off at the Chicago Theatre at 8 p.m. with an in-your-face fashion show fusing runway collections from CNC Costume National, Jean Paul Gaultier, Just Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, MaxMara, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Sonia Rykiel and Sportmax with live performances by some of today's hottest musical artists, including the silky smooth Ne-Yo, up-and-coming singer (and Ne-Yo protege) Jadyn Maria, and groovy jazz trio The New Standards. The high-tech meets high-style production will incorporate full proscenium projections and a show-stopping rainfall effect.

And then there's the fabulous post-party, which takes place stiletto steps away at Macy's State Street flagship. The soiree takes over the seventh floor of the department store, transforming it into a color-drenched nightclub atmosphere, from a blue-hued lair filled with Wii stations and a green-themed room with virtual golf games and a choreographed light-and-water show to a purple passion chamber with body painting and black-and-red surroundings with dancing and DJ Mel DeBarge. More than 20 bars and food stations (plus roaming candy girls!) will help fuel the fashionable fun.

If you're a do-gooder at heart, you'll appreciate the fact that Glamorama benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Tickets are still available through the Chicago Theatre and range in price from $50 for the fashion show only to $1,000 for V.I.P. seating and access to a post-show (and sure-to-be celebrity-saturated) lounge.

Now, pull out that party dress and we'll see you there.
