For the first time in almost a decade, the number of children’s product recalls in 2012 dipped below one hundred.
The total of 97 recalls is the lowest since 2004. But that good news, released in a Kids in Danger report on Wednesday, was tempered by some other news.
The number of serious incidents, injuries and deaths went up dramatically in 2012, leading safety advocates to continue pressing for both testing and recall reforms.
