Two men are dead and three others were injured in shootings on Chicago's South and West sides Friday night.
One of the fatal shootings occurred about 5:17 p.m. on Friday in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Andre Myrick, 30, was shot multiple times in the 1400 block of North Keeler Avenue about 5:17 p.m., authorities said.
He was standing outside a residential building when two male suspects wearing dark clothing both opened fire, and then ran into a dark-colored van that fled southbound, police said.
Myrick, of the 1800 block of South St. Louis Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Anther fatal shooting occurred in the Back of Yards neighborhood where a 20-year-old was killed and a 17-year-old boy wounded. The gunfire occurred in the 1900 block of West 48th Street at 9:08 p.m., police said.
Alexander Mendoza, of an unknown home address, was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 9:50 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The boy was also taken to Stroger in “stable” condition with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
A third shooting occurred in the Back of Yards at 9 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Hermitage Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said. It was possibly a drive-by shooting.
An 18-year-old man arrived at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago with a gunshot wound to the left leg. He was listed in “stable” condition.
The fourth shooting occurred Friday night when a 20-year-old man was shot in the arm in the West Side Garfield Park neighborhood.
He was shot in the arm about 10:10 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Madison Street, police said.
He is listed in “stable” condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
No one is in custody for any of the shooting as of Saturday morning and detectives are still investigating each crime.
