4 Shot at Party in Suburban Park Forest

Four people were shot at a large party in south suburban Park Forest early Sunday.

The shooting happened about 1 a.m. in the 200 block of Berry Street, according to a statement from the Park Forest Police Department. Responding officers found evidence that a shooting had taken place at the residence, but found no one with injuries.

Officers later learned that the four people who had been shot left the scene, the statement said. Three of them went to a hospital to have their injuries treated and a fourth called from a home near the party, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he underwent surgery, police said. He remains in critical condition. Another male - whose age was not immediately known - was shot in the neck and arm, police said. That person was treated at the same hospital and later released, police said.

Two other men were treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds at Franciscan St. James Health in Chicago Heights and were later released, the statement said.

Police did not have further details Sunday afternoon.
