At least five people, including three children, were hospitalized after a shooting on Chicago’s West Side Thursday evening. Sandra Torres reports.

At least five people, including three children, have been hospitalized after a shooting on Chicago’s West Side Thursday evening.

Chicago police say the shooting occurred at a barber shop in the 200 block of North Pulaski Road.

Authorities say that two people walked into the shop, looked around and then left. The pair then returned and began firing shots into the shop before fleeing the scene.

An 11-year-old boy was hit in the back, abdomen and left arm. Another boy was shot in the hip, while a 12-year-old boy was hit in the knee.

All three boys were taken to Stroger, where their conditions have stabilized, according to police.

Five people, including three children, were hurt after a shooting at a West Side barber shop. NBC 5's Lexi Sutter has the story.

A 30-year-old man was shot in the arm, and brought himself to Loretto Hospital. A 40-year-old man was hit in the thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai. Both men's conditions have also stabilized.

According to Chicago police, detectives are on the scene. Video of the incident was obtained by police.

"We have to do something about this violence," Deputy Chief Ernest Cato said. "This has got to be a cooperation with the community and organizations. This will not be tolerated any more."
