DePaul’s women’s basketball team will return to the NCAA tournament for their 17th straight year.
The team is the number-six seed in the Chicago region and will face Missouri State in Ames, Iowa Saturday.
The Blue Demons have already won their fourth Big East title in six years.
“This remarkable team of student athletes has made their school and their city proud,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement. “Chicago looks forward to cheering DePaul on to a deep tournament run.”
DePaul could return to the Wintrust Arena for the Sweet 16 if they win two games.
