A multi-vehicle crash shut down the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway just before the morning rush hour Thursday.
Just before 3 a.m., four semis and three vehicles were involved in an accident near 47th Street, Illinois State Police confirmed.
Preliminary information indicated at least one person was taken to an area hospital following the crash, but their injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said.
All local northbound lanes of the roadway were shut down near the exit following the crash. Express lanes remained open, but delays were expected.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released Thursday.
