Get your holiday shopping done this year at the Illinois Treasurer Office's on-line auction.
The Illinois Treasurer's On-line Unclaimed Property Auction began Monday and will close at 6 p.m. Dec. 11.
There are 15,256 pieces of unclaimed property in the auction whose owners have not yet come to claim their items in more than five years, said State Treasurer Dan Rutherford in a press release.
"We have a wide variety of interesting items to sell in this auction," said Rutherford in the release. "You'll find anything from coins and antique jewelry to old baseball cards- there's something that appeals to everyone."
An outside vendor has appraised the items and 100 percent of the sale proceeds will be held for the rightful owners, according to the release.
Buyers may purchase items on-line with a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, and in addition a 2 percent administrative fee will be assessed on all auction sales. Buyers also must pay for shipping.
