It might take you a few minutes more on the Stairmaster to break this record.
On Sunday, November 9, 22-year-old Nick Wirsching climbed all 2,109 steps of the Sears Tower. Four times.
The West Chicago man set the 8,436-step record as part of Go Vertical Chicago, a cancer research fundraiser for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.
For most participants, just completing the journey once is enough of a challenge. But not for Wirsching.
"I climbed to the top and thought, 'You know, really, I've got nothing else to do," he told the Chicago Tribune.
And just what shoes supported his incredible feat? They weren't some well-renowned athletic shoes. Rather, they were the often-disputed and fashionably-questionable Crocs.
