All lanes of the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway on Chicago's South Side have reopened Wednesday after a semi crash spilled gravel and diesel fuel on the roadway.

Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications said the lanes were temporarily blocked at 9100 South Dan Ryan Expressway, urging drivers to "seek [an] alternate route."

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. between 87th Street and 91st Street near the Bishop Ford Freeway. Lanes had reopened by 1:40 p.m., but traffic issues remained.

According to Illinois State Police, a two-vehicle crash near 91st Street caused a semi to dump gravel and diesel fuel on the roadway, requiring a Hazmat response from the Chicago Fire Department.
