Man Gets 40 Years for Live Internet Sex With Child

A former west suburban man charged with creating a live streaming video of himself sexually molesting an infant has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison.

Prosecutors called it one of the "most significant international child exploitation investigations ever."

Brian Annoreno, 35, was among several area residents charged in 2006 with participating in a private Internet chat room used to trade thousands of child pornography images and videos, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's office.

Annoreno was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James Zagel on Friday. He has been in federal custody since he was arrested in January 2006 and will receive credit for time served. He faced up to 50 years.

Annoreno, formerly of Bartlett, and others transmitted streaming video of live molestations through online instant messenger services to participants around the world, the release said.

Annoreno, who used the screen name "Acidburn," admitted participating in the "Kiddypics & Kiddyvids" chat room, hosted through software that allowed users to engage in peer-to-peer file sharing, the release said.

He admitted to trading images of child porn between early 2005 and early 2006.

Annoreno and more than two dozen others in the United States, Canada, England and elsewhere were prosecuted following an international undercover investigation into the chat room, the release said.

He pleaded guilty in December 2010 to one count each of conspiracy to receive, transmit and advertise child pornography; receiving child pornography, and possessing child pornography, the release said. As part of the plea agreement, the government cited relevant conduct that Annoreno created alive streaming video of himself molesting an infant.

"This case involved the most disturbing criminal sexual assault of minors," said U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald said in the release. "The exploitation of children in such a depraved manner can never be tolerated."
