Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Chicago on Saturday to protest Donald Trump, marking the second consecutive weekend of demonstrations following the election.
The protest began at 12 p.m. at Federal Plaza, located at the corner of Adams and Dearborn in the city's Loop. Activists then began marching toward Trump Tower, carrying signs and chanting things like "No Trump! No KKK! No racist USA." [[402053665, C]]
The protest was organized by ANSWER Chicago, which stands for the "Act Now to Stop War and End Racism" coalition, according to a Facebook event which showed 3,400 people planned to attend with another 9,900 interested.
Other groups involved include BLM Women of Faith, La Voz de los de Abajo, People United Against Oppression, Gay Liberation Network, FRSO, PSL and CODEPINK Chicago.
"We must continue the wave of resistance to a Trump presidency. We cannot let an open racist, sexist and bigot rule this country or threaten the people of the world," the event description reads.
"We must stand with immigrants, Muslims, women, LGBTQ people, communities of color and all those who are in danger and will be under attack during a Trump administration."
Shortly before 1 p.m., protesters began to march north on State Street, causing rolling lane closures. They stopped near Trump Tower, rallying and shutting down the intersection of N Wabash Ave and E Wacker Dr.

The previous weekend saw multiple protests, with around 1,000 people marching through the Loop on Saturday for the fourth consecutive day of demonstrations following the election.
