BBB Gives Tips to Avoid Lollapalooza Ticket Scams

If you’re still looking for Lollapalooza tickets, the Better Business Bureau has tips to help you avoid getting scammed.

With Lollapalooza just around the corner, the Better Business Bureau is giving out tips to avoid getting ripped off if you have to score tickets to the sold-out festival.

According to the bureau, over 300 people reported being victimized by a variety of scams over the last year, and Lollapalooza tickets are among those that were forged before the iconic show took place in Grant Park.

Here are the tips the BBB is offering to consumers looking to score tickets:

Consider Your Source: Know the difference between professional ticket brokers, a ticket scalper, and scammers selling fraudulent tickets.

Check Out the Seller/Broker on the BBB Website: Look up sellers on bbb.org to evaluate other customer experiences.

Buy Only From Trusted Venders: Look for the lock symbol in the web address form to indicate a secure purchasing system. Don’t click through email ads, and always look at URL’s to make sure it matches up with the company name.

Use Payment Methods That Come With Protection: Always use a credit card so you have some recourse if the tickets aren’t legitimate. Debit cards, wire transfers, and cash transactions are risky.

If you or someone you know is hit by a scam artist, make sure to report it to the Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker.
