With their 3-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon, the St. Louis Blues locked themselves into the number two spot in the Central Division standings and set up a first round playoff matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Despite the team’s geographic proximity, they haven’t met in the postseason since the 2002 Western Conference quarterfinal series, which the Blues took down by a four games to one margin. The Blues also swept the Hawks in the 1993 playoffs, giving them eight wins in their last nine playoff games against the Blackhawks.
The Hawks will be looking to change all of that when the puck drops to open the series later this week, and we’ll have all sorts of analysis to prepare you for what should be a fascinating series.
