Body Found in Chicago River Near Pilsen

A man’s body surfaced Saturday night near Pilsen while a family of five was fishing. NBC 5’s Lexi Sutter has the details.  

A body was found Saturday night in the Chicago River near the Pilsen neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The Chicago Police Department’s Marine Unit pulled the remains of 74-year-old Angel Roldan about 9:45 p.m. near the 2700 block of South Ashland, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, and detectives are investigating the death. Roldan was a resident of the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office scheduled an autopsy.
