Authorities say that four Chicago Public Schools students were shot on the patio of a business near a Northwest Side high school on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Chicago fire officials, three juveniles and one adult were shot at the business near Schurz High School, located near the intersection of Milwaukee and Addison.

According to Chicago police, one of the victims was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, while two others were hospitalized in serious condition. A fourth victim is in good condition.

All four victims were students at Chicago Public Schools, but it is unclear whether they were all students at Schurz.

According to Chicago Public Schools, the school was placed on a lockdown after the shooting took place, but that has since been lifted, with students allowed to go home as the investigation continues.

Police say that patrols will be enhanced during arrival and dismissal times at the school beginning on Thursday.

A dark-colored SUV is believed to have been involved in the shooting, and it fled eastbound on Addison. Police are seeking surveillance footage of that vehicle, and have canvassed nearby businesses to obtain more footage to aid in the investigation.

According to Total Traffic, westbound Addison is closed between Tripp Avenue and Kilbourn Avenue due to police activity in the area. Milwaukee Avenue is closed in both directions between Keeler Avenue and Kostner Avenue.
