It’s become almost a common event at this point, but Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Báez once again did something hilariously awesome on the basepaths of Wrigley Field on Thursday.
Báez, nicknamed “El Mago” for his ability to evade tags and hit monster home runs, was heading into third base during the game, and instead of just sliding into the bag headfirst or feet-first, he went with a dramatic “pose” instead:
Naturally, Cubs fans on social media were quick to seize on the artistry of Báez’s slide, and provided some hilarious reactions to it:
In case there was any doubt, Báez ended up scoring on a single by Albert Almora Jr.
